Retipping, Stone Sourcing, Tightening, and Setting

If the claws holding a stone into a piece of jewellery look worn, damaged, or are missing, we can attach new claws to make any gemstones more secure.

It is worth popping your rings in from time to time for us to have a look and assess the security of any stones. If you feel a claw is catching, it may mean it has been bent back. When this happens, that claw is no longer securing the stone and may have been weakened, making it liable to snapping. It’s especially important to keep an eye on the setting of rings that only have four claws; unlike with six or eight claw rings, once one claw is damaged on a four claw ring the stone is at significant risk of falling out. If you have any concerns, show it to one of our knowledgeable members of staff.
