Made to Order Commissions Terms & Conditions

Explanation, Terms & Conditions.

We will not be able to begin processing an order until these terms and conditions have been read, understood and agreed. By typing YES in the box below and pressing the SEND button you have notified us that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.

We have a two part price structure-
1) Part one-A charge for DESIGN and 3D modelling
2) Part two-A charge for supplying PRECIOUS METAL and MANUFACTURING

1) Is payable before work begins and is non – refundable. This charge may differ according to complexity and novelty of design and will be quoted and agreed prior to work commencing. We will present the model ,normally by post, for the customer’s agreement. If necessary we will make up to a further two adjustments to the model free of charge. If more models are requested we reserve the right to charge for any additional.

2) The recent large movements in precious metal prices means that an indication of this charge will be given when 1) is agreed. A firm price will be given immediately before the work in precious metal begins and will hold for 7 working days while we are waiting for a deposit of at least 50% of 2). If the initial minimum deposit arrives after 7 working days then we reserve the right to amend 2). 2 must be paid in full before the finished item is posted to, or collected by, the customer. If the piece is not paid for in full within 6 weeks of being finished, we reserve the right to cancel the order and keep monies transferred to us to offset costs incurred by us in the manufacturing process. If customer changes their mind on the design during precious metal work process, we reserve the right to charge for any extra work necessary to alter the design.

3) SUPPLY of Precious metal – We can supply the precious metal either entirely or in part. If a customer supplies any or all of the metal required in fabrication, there will be a 2.5% loss in metal weight supplied due to the manufacturing process. For example -if a customer supplies 50gm of metal to use for a job, 1.25gm (2.5%) will be non returnable in the finished item.

4) DESIGN – The finished design will be unique to the customer. We may however use the design, but make adjustments to it, when fabricating new models going forward.

5) HALLMARKING – We will send all our finished items to be hallmarked, normally to the London Assay Office, unless requested otherwise by the customer. If a customer supplies all or part of the metal for a design we cannot guarantee the purity of this metal and it may not pass the assay finesse requirements.

6) FINAL WEIGHT – We will endeavour to be exact in the finished weight requirements of an order, but due to the manufacturing process, the finished item may be slightly different to the ordered weight, possibly in the tolerance range of +/- 5% in which case we reserve the right to alter the finished cost of an item pro-rata to 2),or to return un-used metal to the customer.

7) FINAL FIT – A customer must be sure that rings and bangles are of the correct finger and wrist size at the 3D modelling stage as cast items often inherently lack the ability to be stretched or bent after fabrication as stress fractures may occur, of which we cannot be held responsible.

8) HAND FINISH imperfections – We cannot guarantee the finish on items when metal has been supplied by a customer- as alloys included may not be suitable for casting. Also, in general- although we have a rigorous in-house quality control, the hand finishing process may not be able to alleviate every minor imperfection. An item will only be be given to a customer when it has passed our quality control.
